Stone Bear River Campgrounds 

11820 Eagle Lakes Rd, Soda Springs, CA 95728

About 2.5 hours without traffic

Up to 3-4 hours in peak traffic time 

Tickets at the gate are $80!

Presales are over!

GATE OPENS October 4th at 2pm! 

Everyone is welcome to camp on site the night of the 5th.

You must pack up and leave on Monday, October 6th.

There is no camping on site for October 6th! 

PARKING

Parking is about a 5-7 minute walk from the camping area.

Its up a hill, so when you are walking in, its downhill.  

Bring a cart or something to help you transport your stuff, if you have a lot of stuff. 

If you want to car camp, there are still spots available.

Car camping is $30 for regular sized cars 

More for RVs (depending on the size)

There is onsite drinking water available.

Bring a container to fill up. 

WEATHER

The weather will be perfect California mountain weather for October.

It has been raining the last few days, and will continue to rain throughout the weekend, clearing up on Monday for a totally sunny week!

By the time we go up on site on Wed, it will be clear skies and fun worky times!

This is excellent great news for us, because it will make the dance floor less dusty AND it will clear the air!

It will be warmish during the day, likely hitting 70. 

It will be chilly at night!

With that said...we had the same forecast for May and it was ridiculously nice.

The point is...you never know!

So please be prepared for all weather conditions! 

*some* of the campsites have fire pits! 

Feel free to purchase wood from the landowners (or bring some of your own)

HOWEVER please do not gather wood to burn

Speaking of fires...

HELLO! HUGE fires all over California happening right now~

So please maintain the highest level of fire safety!

Fires ONLY in existing fire pits.

ALL CAMPING STOVES must be elevated. 

DO NOT put your propane camping stove on the ground! 

Do you smoke?

Please bring a portable ashtray!!!

Well, Stone Bear River Campgrounds has been sold through a bank auction to, we heard, REI.

So, this is probly not an option anymore.

We know you guys love that spot and we will try to get in touch with the new owners about the possibility of doing events there but uhh...corporations, you know?  They are like Cuthulu in the happy zone.

We are currently spot scouting!  And eating lasagna, but the lasagna is kind of irrelevant.

We checked out an amazing location last weekend, and we will be seeing two more this week!

The spot we checked out is amazing, 2.5 hours north from SF. 

There are campsites and swimming!

A few of us are also heading out to BM );(

Hi all!!!

Party Babas have just begun the decompression process

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend and we hope you did too!

We want to take a moment to discuss

Sure, most of you are like...I know what that means!

But...obviously....not everyone does

In terms of dancefloor trash

Double Rainbow was the CLEANEST dancefloor I have EVER EVER seen 

I mean, it was super duper clean 

Everyone was being fairly responsible with their butts, cans, and bottles.

In fact, everything was looking really good trash wise until Monday.

On Monday, the next party crew came to set up.

And they brought a big dumpster with them.

And a lot of

bags of trash.

So many bags of trash, we could not fit them all in the truck to get them off site. 

So we had to PAY A TON OF MONEY

it does not mean pile all your trash into a pile in a corner and we deal with it

Party Babas works REALLY REALLY hard to provide you with the best experience possible

We scout amazing locations

and we keep ticket prices AS LOW AS possible

We always accommodate low income tickets and special requests 

So we really can not afford to take the time and money required to deal with your trash. 

So

What can you do if you are at a festival, and you have a bag of trash, but no way of getting it home?

ASK SOMEONE 

Maybe someone can help you tie it on the roof of your car

or maybe your neighbor can take it

Worst case scenario, you can always find a volunteer and let them know

And we will do our best to help you

Thank you everyone who came out to dance!!! Yesterday was insane!
Big shout out to the set up crew!!! We set up the whole stage and then had to move it over five feet or so to the right because of the fire lane (even tho our previous set up plan was approved many times). So in total Party Babas fashion we got together and lifted the entire set up and carried it over!!
Hopefully next year we can be in a new location so we can set up bigger and better sound for all of you!!!

 These are some energy nests that we made. Notice the one on the right got all funky looking. The balloon we put the string on had a slow leak so it hardened all cool looking. 

 This is a mini model of the Spacey Whale I made from a balloon, and some tape and random stuff.

See the big yoga ball? That is going to become a Spacey Whale!!!! So far its a yoga ball connected to some rods that we wrapped wire around and then wrapped with a yoga mat. We are gonna get some more foam and cover the yoga ball and form the shape.

A little more info about How Weird....

Been working hard Brainstorming up a storm for the Spacey Whale to descend to Earth upon. 

The plan is to create an under water outer space environment that envelops you once you turn the corner. 

One of our major concerns is the construction on 2nd street. It spans the right hand sidewalk and about half the street and last year, we found that it interfered with the way we wanted to set up the stage and speakers, in terms of spacing. 

This year we are going to address this issue by flipping the stage. The DJ booth will be at the beginning of Minna instead of at the end (by the construction). So the back of the DJ booth will be to 2nd and the front will be facing the construction. 

That way all you wonderful people that come to dance dont have to look at construction all day. 

And we also believe that it will create a more enclosed dance floor!

Ok so! How will we create our environment? 

I found this cool idea online for hanging upside down ballons  

I am thinking a bunch of black and dark blue ones to create an "outer space" feel. 

But wait...arent there like...planets and stars in outer space! Why yes! There are. 

And we want to make some of those too. Planets!  Stars!  The internet can show you how to make anything and its amazing!!!! 

We will also be making nests of cosmic energy! These nests provide nourishment to our spacey whale!

See! This is an actual one that I made...that green cord this is like...a cord..not attached to the nest. But anyway, sweet huh? 

We are also going to make a bunch of free standing Friends, that you can take a picture with. For the Spacey Whale...we would like to cut him out of something light weight enough to hang. Generally we make things out of sheets of ply, but that's waaay too heavy to hang. 

We are looking for input!

What material can we use? 

Is there a type of plastic that will work? 

We need it to be light weight and shatter proof. Able to be cut with a circular saw, or other type of "at home" equipment.

 

Aside from our kickstarter we are also looking for donations of paint, yarn, glue! 

Or, COME BE A PART OF THE MAGIC.
